Barton, MD. - Josephine Michaels, 79, of North Eutaw St, Barton, passed away Tuesday April 24, 2012 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born March 3, 1933 in Westernport, she was the daughter of the late Raymond E. and Hazel (McKenzie) Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Michaels Sr., a son, Gary Ray "Pickles" Michaels, two sisters, Patsy Alexander and Roberta Clark. Mrs. Michaels formerly worked a Jake's Market in Westernport, and she was a homemaker. She leaves behind four children, Russell Michaels JR and significant other Cindy Shriver of Westernport, Virginia "Peach" Mangold of Barton, Roger Michaels of Falling Waters, WV, and Crystal Leap and husband Shawn of Barton. She is also survived by two sisters, Edna May Sellers of Westernport, Marlene Wilson of Oakland, two grandchildren, David Mangold and Megan Michaels and five great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at the Boal Chapel on Friday at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Greg Hammond officiating. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills. Cumberland Times-News.
