Hinkle, the late telegraph operator at Evitt's Creek tower, who was killed at the Virginia avenue crossing of the B. & O. railroad on Sunday night, will be buried tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from his house at No. 15 Valley street. Interment will be in St. Patrick's cemetery. Mr. Hinkle was 35 years of age, and besides his wife and family of five children, he is survived by the following relatives: Mrs. Hinkle, his widowed mother, Mrs. Charles Gurley, a sister, and three brothers, Clarence, employed at the Co-operative Supply Co.'s Stores, Virginia avenue; Frank, chief time keeper, McKeesport Tube Works at McKeesport, Pa., and George, a clerk employed in the latter city. William M Hinkle, telegraph operator for the B & O at Evitts Creek tower, had his life was crushed out at Virginia Avenue grade crossing in an accident last night. Mr. Hinkle was standing at the grade crossing by a westbound engine, when an eastbound engine backed up, knocking him down, and passed over him. He lived at 15 Valley St., and leaves a widow and five small children. He was 35 years of age and was well known selling barber supplies and also had worked the barber trade. He also leaves his widowed mother at Mt. Harmon, two brothers, Frank and George at McKeesport; a brother Clarence, working at the Co-Op Supply Co., and a sister, Mrs. Charles Gurley, 3 miles east of Cumberland.

William Marvilla HINKLE and Susannah Catherine MCKENZIE were married. Susannah Catherine MCKENZIE, daughter of John William MCKENZIE and Elizabeth Catherine ADKINS, was born on 26 Mar 1873 in Allegany Co., Maryland. She died on 19 Feb 1911 at the age of 37 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. Mrs. Susanna Catherine Hinkle, aged 37 years, a widow, died yesterday morning at her home, 65 Front St. She was a Miss McKenzie prior to her marriage. Her husband died several years ago. Susanna was a widow when she married William. She had been married to a John Walker. That union produced a daughter, Bertha Walker. I have a picture of Bertha.
William and Susanna had Ethel born December 1895; I have a picture of Ethel.
William Aloysius born October 1896; Of course, I have a picture of him.
Joseph Edward born March 28, 1900; I have a picture of Joseph.
John Ludwig born and died in 1902;
Georgia Elizabeth (called Bessie) born October 1903 and died December 1903;
Thomas A. born June 13, 1905 I have a picture of Thomas.
It is so funny that you mentioned Rose Anna McKenzie Neff. The three boys were placed in St. Mary's Home and they were released from the home to "Mrs. Charles Neff, 728 Grant Street in McKeesport, Pennsylvania" on June 25, 1916.
I only know that Charles E. Neff was born ABOUT 1865 and that Rose was born in Cumberland 05/17/1868. They married in Frostberg 10/21/1889. Their children were Agnes P. Neff born September 1892; Ethelle N. Neff born 07/1895 and Charles H. Neff born 10/05/1899. I have no information regarding deaths of any of these.

v.Georgia Elizabeth "Bessie" HINKLE was born in Oct 1903. She died on 6 Dec 1903 at the age of 0 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. Cumberland Times obituary:
HINKLE 07 Dec 1903 Bessie Hinkle, 2 month old child of Mr & Mrs WM Hinkle, died last evening at the home of her parents on N Centre St. Burial in St Patrick's Cemetery.
