Tichenor served in the Revolutionary War under Captain Isaac HalDaniel sey's Co., Morris Co., New Jersey Militia, Eatern Battalion.
Daniel exchanged his farm in Morris Co., New Jersey for lands on Green River in Ohio Co., Kentucky in 1790 and brought his family to Kentucky in 1790. He was very disappointed in the wildness of this land and never took his family there. The family, with some of their neighbors near Morristown, moved in wagons to Pittsburg, where they bought a boat and descended the Ohio River to Louisville, Kentucky and then to Nelson Co., Kentucky. He then purchased 300 acres on Plumb Run in Nelson Co., Kentucky in 1795.He and his family moved there in 1796 and resided there until his death.
