  Notes	FROSTBURG -- On Sept. 7, 2001, the Angels Ascended from Heaven to take Iona "Louise" Bittinger, 82, of Frostburg, to Heaven to be with her husband, Herman B. Bittinger, her son S/Sgt. Karl A. Minnick Sr.; three brothers; and three sisters. Born on July 9, 1919, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Nunzio "Nutzy" and Lee Etta (McKenzie) Ruffo. Mrs. Bittinger was a homemaker and a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church. She was also a member of Farrady Post 24, American Legion. Surviving are her children, Joseph H. Minnick Sr. and wife Faye, Centerville, Md., Roger A. Minnick Sr. and wife Sharon, Frostburg, Herman "Bud" Bittinger and wife Dee, Colorado Spring, Colo., Patricia Ann Winfield, Frostburg, Robyn Bowman and husband Phil, Swanton, Tina M. Robinette and husband Richard, Hagerstown, Jeannie Caruthers and husband Don, Springs, Pa., and Trey Flippen, Keyser, W.Va.; one sister, Anna Lee Kight and husband Gordon, Frostburg; 23 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Monday at 10 a.m. with Father William Moody as celebrant.
