- Helen C. Dishong, 60, of 159 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD, died Wednesday, November 8, 1989, at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, D.C. Born May 18, 1929 in National, she was the daughter of the late David and Rella (Spiker) Spiker. She was a member of the Frostburg Church of the Brethren. Her husband was the late Alfred Dishong. Survivors include one sister, Wilma Platter, Grantsville, Md.; one brother, Calvin Spiker, Boynton; and several nieces and nephews, including Bryan Spiker, who resided with her. Friends were received at the Sowers Funeral Home, where services were conducted Friday at 8:30 p.m. by the Rev. T. William Preston. The body will be cremated. The Republic, November 16, 1989.
