- GRANTSVILLE — Marie E. Poleman, 85, of 10577 National Pike, Grantsville, died Monday, Nov. 11, 1996, at the Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville. Born Oct. 3, 1911, at Avilton, she was a daughter of the late Frank Pfaff and Margaret (McKenzie) Pfaff Drees. She also was preceded in death by two husbands, Ralph Brown and Lawrence Poleman; two sons, Lewis and Robert Brown; and a sister, Catherine Wiley. Mrs. Poleman was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Pocahontas, Pa., and was a homemaker. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Catherine McKenzie, Grantsville; three granddaughters, Connie Scarlett, Asheville, N.C., Linda Snelson, Springs, Pa., and Carol Platter, Grantsville; four great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville. Prayer service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William Moody officiating.
