    • Shirley Elizabeth Pfaff, 66, Frostburg, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2005, at Sacred Heart Hospital, after struggling with cancer for 11 years. Born April 21, 1939, in Frostburg, she was a daughter of the late Frederick J. McKenzie and Margaret Grace (Bowers) McKenzie. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Gilbert Pfaff, in 1989; and two brothers, Donald McKenzie and Charles J. McKenzie. She graduated from LaSalle High School, Cumberland, and attended Frostburg State College. She was a homemaker and formerly worked at the St. Vincent DePaul Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg. Surviving are three sons, Thomas J. Pfaff, Frostburg, Michael A. Pfaff, Cumberland, and Mark P. Pfaff, Grantsville; two grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Ravenscroft, LaVale, Veronica McKenzie, Frostburg, and Marcella Susie Flubacher, Maine; seven brothers, Lawrence McKenzie, Fort Ashby, Anthony McKenzie, Hollywood, John McKenzie, Eckhart, Raymond McKenzie, Oldtown, Leo McKenzie, Frostburg, Paul McKenzie, Frostburg, and Marty McKenzie, Midlothian. Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg. A funeral mass was celebrated at St. Michael's Cath-olic Church, Frostburg, today, Thursday, Sept. 22, with Monsignor Paul Byrnes as celebrant. Interment was in the St. Michael's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Home Care, c/o Linda Valentine, 900 Seton Dr., Cumberland, MD 21502. Cumberland Times-News.
