- Kathleen D. Mantheiy, 87, of Cumberland, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born in Cumberland, on Sept. 12, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Franklin J. and Marian A. (McKenzie) Mantheiy Will. In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by brother, Frank A. Mantheiy; sisters, Margaret H. Franciosi and husband, Paul, and Ursula L. Mantheiy; nephew, Christopher A. Mantheiy; niece, Andrea J. Atkinson; brother-in-law, Thomas Lewis; and stepfather, Augustine Will. Kathleen graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1946. During high school, and following graduation, Kathleen was employed by Walsh and McCagh Pharmacy. She was later employed by Sears Roebuck and Company, until her retirement. Kathleen was a member of Our Lady of the Mountains Parish, St. Mary Catholic Church. She was a member of the Church Sodality, and very active in many church functions. Kathleen enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing, crocheting, and house painting. Kathleen is survived by a brother, R. William Mantheiy and wife, Ellie, Cumberland; one sister, Angela Lewis, Bellingham, Wash.; sister-in-law, Josephine Mantheiy, Bowling Green, Cumberland; niece, Angela M. Franciosi; four nephews, Mark A. Franciosi, Robert E. Franciosi and wife, Bonnie, Joseph W. Mantheiy, David M. Mantheiy and wife, Charleen, and Thomas Lewis and wife, Trisha; niece-in-law, Denise Mantheiy; 10 great-nieces, Heather, Hannah, Corinne, Chloe, Isabella, Emily, Lily, Ciara, Hannah and Jenna; four great-nephews, Joshua, Jack, Thomas and Colby; great-great-niece, Maris; and great-great-nephew, Chase. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Sunday, May 15, 2016, from 1 to 5 p.m. There will be a Christian Wake service at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Monday, May 16, 2016, at 10 a.m. with Fr. John Paul Kuzma O.F.M., Cap., as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family graciously request that their friends and family, in lieu of flowers, make contributions in Kathleen's memory to the Clothing Room at Our Lady of the Mountains Parish.
