- Jaime S. LEASE was born on 7 Sep 1983 in Portsmouth, Portsmouth Co., Virginia. She died on 13 Jun 2008 in Slidell, Louisiana. June 17, 2008 - Cumberland Times-News - SLIDELL, La. - Jaime S. Lease, 24, loving daughter of Lt. Col. Paul and Anne (Winter) Lease, 278 W. Essex Dr., Slidell, LA 70461, died June 13, 2008 after an 18 month battle with leukemia. Jaime was born Sept. 7, 1983 at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Portsmouth, Va. She attended Annunciation School at Cherry Point, N.C., St. Anthony's in Kaneohe, Hawaii and Sister Margaret Mary & Pope John Paul in Slidell, bases where her father had been stationed with the U.S. Marine Corps. She was granted a full scholarship to Louisiana State University, having graduated in 2005 with a B.S. degree in Marketing. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Cpl. Tad Lease, serving with the U.S. Marine Corps in Hawaii; her paternal grandparents who loved her dearly, Paul and Flo Lease, LaVale; an aunt, Reba Burker and husband, Robert, Hagerstown; and four cousins, Joshua, Jaggar, and Haylee Albert and T/Sgt. Karlie Albert Madden with the USAF in Little Rock, Ark. Surviving on her maternal side are an uncle, Robert Winter and wife Donna, Long Boat Key, Fla.; two aunts, Susan Schneider and husband Bruce, Denver, Col. and Mary Elizabeth Drinkwater and husband William, Long Island, N.Y.; and seven cousins, Michael, Kevin and Dennis Schneider, William and Kate Drinkwater, and Robert and Allison Winter. Jaime was preceded in death by her brother, Paul; and her maternal grandparents, Robert and Eileen Winter. Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 from 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bernadette Ross officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Bedford Rd., Cumberland, Md. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to either the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, 12902 Magnolia Dr., Tampa, FL 33612 or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
