- Harold D. "HD" "Hallie" Hawn entered into the hands of God and was reunited with his daughters on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019. Born March 14, 1939, he was the son of the late Meshach B. Hawn and Leota B. (McKenzie) Wampler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, one stillborn in 1961, and Tammy L. Wright in 2016; two sisters; and one brother. HD was an inspector for the Maryland State Highway Administration for 27 years. He was a member of the 729th Postal Unit of the Army Reserves, and he was a member of the Frostburg Church of the Brethren. HD loved to travel with his wife and spend time with his family, especially with his great-grandchildren who knew him as "Big Pappy." He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. Harold is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, LeEtta P. (Durr) Hawn; son, Robert D. Hawn and wife Brenda Bennett; daughter, Terri L. Rogers and husband Jeffery W. Rogers; son-in-law, Robbie Wright; grandchildren, Shawn Michael Guyer and wife Tiffany Guyer, Stephanie Lee Guyer, Crystal Hawn Conard and husband Dustin, and Logan Hawn; seven great-grandchildren, with a new great-granddaughter expected to arrive in March; brother, Donald Hawn and wife Phyllis Hawn; three sisters-in-law; and one brother-in-law. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In accordance with his wishes, HD will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at Frostburg Church of the Brethren, 1 Beall St, Frostburg, MD, on March 9, 2019, at 11 a.m. All friends and family are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions in HD's memory be made to Frostburg Church of the Brethren. Published in Cumberland Sunday Times-News on February 23, 2019
