  Notes	SCOTTDALE, Jan. 3 — Elsie Cochran Porter, wife of George W. Porter, Sr., died at her home, one mile west of Scottdale, yesterday, in the 78th year of her life, after an illness of several years from rheumatism. The deceased was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Cochran and was born on the farm where she spent her life. In spite of much suffering, she kept a calm and peaceful disposition. and was uncomplaining. She joined the Tyrone Presbyterian Church, south of here, and brought her letter to the Jacobs Creek Methodist Episcopal Church in January of 1886. She is survived by her husband, who is a well-known farmer, and three children, ono son, Arthur J. Porter, also a farmer, and assessor of East Huntingdon township, and two daughters, Miss Dessie Porter and Miss Amy Jane Porter, the latter the superintendent of the Primary Department of the Fayette County Sunday School Association. One sister survives, Mrs. J. Smith Lobingner of Mount Pleasant. The funeral services will take place from the late home of the deceased, west of town on the road from the Catholic Cemetery over to the road that is an extension of West Pittsburg street. The services will be in charge of Rev. Archibald Affid, formerly pastor of the Jacobs Creek Church, now at Masontown, and Rev. P. O. Wagner, of the Jacob Creek Church, and Rev. J. J. Funk of Mt.
