- May 04, 2009, Cumberland Times-News ~ WHITEHOUSE, Texas — Services for John “Jack” Horchler, 68, of Whitehouse, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Lloyd James Funeral Chapel in Tyler, Texas, with Father Dan Daugherty officiating. Burial is at Whitehouse Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home. Mr. Horchler passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2009 in Tyler. He was born on Sept. 17, 1940 in Cumberland, Md., to the late John Howard Horchler Sr. and Ruth Decker Horchler. He was a maintenance manager for Kelly Springfield, a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and has lived in the Tyler area for 28 years. He served in Vietnam in the United States Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Horchler of Whitehouse; sons, James Horchler and wife Ginger of Whitehouse and Steven Wayne Horchler and wife Melodie of Whitehouse; sister, Joyce Ann Rockwell and husband Ernie of Cumberland; and grandchildren, Jonathan and Julie Horchler and Elizabeth, Austin and Carl Bowers. Pallbearers will be Johnathan Horchler, James Horchler, Zack Rogers and Cliff Boucher. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Lloyd James Funeral Home, 1011 East First St., Tyler, TX 75701. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Diabetes Foundation, P. O. Box 11454, Alexandria, Va. 22312.
