Born March 11, 1923 in Ridgeley, W.Va., he was the son of the late George and Frances (Lynch) Harris. Mr. Harris was a driver for Hemingway Transfer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife. Alice Jane (Stottlemyer) Harris; two daughters, Joyce Roach and husband Gerry, Edgewood and Penny Souders and husband John, Greencastle, Pa.; two sons, Kenneth Harris and wife Lisa, Baltimore and Andrew Harris, Cresaptown; one sister, Lucille Bridges, Cumberland; one brother, Paul Harris, Baltimore; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John E. Walker officiating. Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap, Flintstone. Military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard. He was buried on 10 Feb 2002 in Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap, Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland.
