- CUMBERLAND - Mildred Virgie Hershberger Snyder, 87, of Moran Manor Nursing Home, formerly of Winchester Road, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1993 at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born March 3, 1905 in Cresaptown, she was the daughter of the late Sanford B. and Slena (sic: Lena) (Grant) Robinette. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon M. Hershberger in 1977 and her second husband Christopher M. Snyder in 1988. She was also preceded in death by a step-grandson, Chris Babcock. Mrs. Snyder was a former member of the Cresaptown United Methodist Church and currently was a member of the Calvary Independent Baptist Church. She was a housewife and a member of the Women's Christian Society. Survivors are one son, James B. Hershberger, Winchester Road; three step-daughters, Hilda Frankenberry, Cumberland; Wilma Snyder, and Ruth Ann Babcock, both of Cresaptown; one sister, Ada Cecil, Cresaptown; two grandchildren, David Hershberger and Linda Tichnell; four great-grandchildren and six step-great- grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, La Vale, Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ken Korns officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Bedford Valley, Pa. The Cumberland Times-News, February 12, 1993.
