- Per research of Richard (Dick) MacKenzie in December, 2013, he states: Regardless of the DAR application, I’m leery of the information about James. I think someone has their facts screwed up there. Leah McKenzie was the daughter of Zachariah Wharton McKenzie and Alice L. Storer, Alice being the daughter of James Storer and Louisa Ewing. That info came from death records, which I trust more than DAR apps.
