  Notes	Wolfe-McKenzie – Charles Hiram Wolfe, son of Hiram B. Wolfe, meat dealer, 394 North Centre Street, and Miss Edna McKenzie of near narrows park went to the parsonage of the Centre Street M.E. Street at 9:00 Tuesday night and were married by the Rev. Joseph Dawson. The young couple were to have been married yesterday evening and a big reception had been prepared by their friends, but they were greatly surprised to learn the ceremony had been performed a day in advance. Cumberland Evening Times, Thursday, June 15, 1914 Charles H. Wolfe, 73, prominent local businessman, died Friday night at his home, 1304 Holland Street. A native of Cumberland, he was a son of the late Charles and Sarah (Hite) Wolfe. For many years he operated a meat market on North Centre Street near Bedford Street and his father and grandfather were in the meat business before him. The Wolfe family operated meat markets and slaughter houses in Cumberland for more than 100 years. Mr. Wolfe was a member of Centre Street Methodist Church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary E. (MacKenzie) Wolfe; two daughters, Miss Jane Wolfe, at home, and Mrs. Mary Manuel, Fairfield, Calif.; a son, Warren M. Wolfe, St. Louis, and six grandchildren. The body is at the Silcox Funeral Residence where friends will be received today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Carlton M. Harris, pastor of Centre Street Methodist Church, and Rev. John F. Sammel, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park. The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to Father Flanagan's Boys Town or the Allegany - Garrett County Heart Association. Pallbearers will be Carl Griffith, Vincent Miltenberger, Francis Stitcher, Curtis Wedd, Elwood Beachy and Charles Herriott. The Cumberland Times, May 26, 1963.
