  Notes	MCCOOLE — Thomas Allen Footen, 85, of Pine Hill Road, McCoole, passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at his home after a protracted illness.Born Aug. 30, 1926 in Westernport, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Elizabeth Maxine (Dunn) Footen. His wife, Marguerite (McKenzie) Footen, two sisters, Catherine Footen and Thelma Nicols, one brother, Edgar “Snook” Footen, and a great-granddaughter, Alyvia Albright, also preceded him in death. Mr. Footen was a United States Naval veteran, having joined at the age of 16, and served his country following the Pearl Harbor invasion. He was a member of Kelly Mansfield Post 52 American Legion, Piedmont, WV, and a member of Queens Point V.F.W. 6775, McCoole. He leaves behind his children, Thomas J. Footen and wife Sherry “Shirley” of McCoole, Steve Johnson and partner Kim Skidmore of McCoole, Margaret Ann Obenshain and husband Larry of Fried Meat Ridge, W.Va., and Nancy Deter and husband Brad of Cumberland. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, Lisa Campbell, David, Sean and Scott Deter, Jody Rohrbaugh, Logan and Justin Obenshain, Tisha Broadwater, Steven, Jason, Holli and Ashley Johnson, Derek, Zach and McKenzie Footen, Justin, Brooke and Lexi Guthrie; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. At Mr. Footen’s request, he was cremated and there will be no visitation or services. A memorial celebration of his life will be held at the McCoole V. F.W. at a later date.
