  Notes	CRESAPTOWN, MARYLAND — Lorraine I. (Hunter) McKenzie, 83, of Cresaptown, died Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born March 27, 1927 in Connellsville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William and Sarah (McLaughlin) Hunt-er. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, James M. "Bud" McKenzie; two sisters, Loretta (Hunter) Murphy, Jean (Hunter) Likens; and one brother, Glen Hunter. Lorraine was a 1945 graduate of Allegany High School, a member of the Cresaptown United Methodist Church and an active member of the United Methodist Women, Adult Sunday School and Bible Study and the Homemakers Group. She was employed as a cook for 18 years by Warner's German Restaurant. Lorraine's hobbies included bingo, baking, knitting, crocheting, traveling and gardening. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Surviving are two sons, Dennis J. McKenzie and wife Cathrine (Osbourne) McKenzie, Cresaptown, Gary L. McKenzie and wife Brenda (Shaffer) McKenzie, Elkton; two brothers, Bill Hunter, Plant City, Fla., John Hunter and wife Janet, Sarasota, Fla.; one sister, Shirley (Hunter) Gressley, Reisterstown; four grandchildren, Jonathan W. McKenzie and wife Lucy, Leesburg, Va., Marlise A. (McKenzie) Gilley and husband Chris, Havre de Grace, Mathew J. McKenzie, Cresaptown, Dean R. McKenzie and wife Elizabeth, Cresaptown; three great-grandsons, Wyatt McKenzie and Trey McKenzie (sons of Dean and Elizabeth) and Ryan Gilley (son of Marlise and Chris). Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, (www.scarpellifuneralhomes.com) on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the Cresaptown United Methodist Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jeannie Marsh and the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the services from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap, Flintstone. In lieu of flowers the family requests, that donations be made in Lorraine's memory to the Cresaptown United Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be Mat McKenzie, Dean McKenzie, Jonathan McKenzie, Gary McKenzie, Dennis McKenzie, Chris Gilley and Jim Osbourne. Bud and Lorraine were dedicated to each other and Lorraine missed him terribly for the three years they were separated by Bud's passing, she passed on his birthday, and what would have been their 65th anniversary.
