Notes	FORT ASHBY, W.Va. — Bernice Irene Dent, 78, of Fort Ashby, died Monday, April 27, 1998, at Dawn View Manor, Fort Ashby. She was born Sept. 15, 1919, in Westernport, Md., a daughter of the late John B. and Eva E. (Tanner) McKenzie. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Loren Edward Dent Sr., on Sept. 12, 1997; two brothers, Clifton McKenzie and Elton “Hoot” McKenzie; a half-brother, Daryl McKenzie; and a half-sister, Elta Dixon. Surviving are two sons, Loren E. Dent Jr., Fort Ashby, and John R. Dent, Burlington; one daughter, Sylvia J. Baker, New Creek; one brother, Wayne McKenzie, Westernport, Md.; three sisters, Marguerite Footen, McCoole, Md., Hilda Friend, Westernport, and Joyce Jones, Westernport; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, on Tuesday. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 29, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Samuel E. Biser officiating.
