- WESTERNPORT - Mrs. Etta Dixon, wife of James 0. Dixon, 114 Railroad Street, died yesterday in Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, where she had been a patient three months. A native of Barnum, W. Va., she was a daughter of the late John and Lulu (Hite) McKenzie. Mrs. Dixon, who resided here for some 35 years, was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by her stepmother, Mrs. Eva McKenzie; a daughter, Mrs. Donna Brode, of here, four sisters, Mrs. Joyce Jones, Mrs. Marguerite Johnson and Mrs. Hilda Friend, all of here, and Mrs. Bernice Dent, Fort Ashby Road, W. Va. Also surviving are four brothers, Darrell McKenzie, Clifford McKenzie and Elton J. McKenzie, all of here, Wayne McKenzie with the Army in California, and two grandchildren. The body is at the Boal Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the Assembly of God Church at 12:30 p. m. Sunday and services will be conducted at 2 p. m. by Rev. E. W. Welford, pastor. Interment will be in Philos Cemetery. The Cumberland Evening Times, January 10, 1958.
Etta raised a neighbor's child, Donna Lee Smith, daughter of Charles Smith and Nellie McGee.
