- OAKLAND — Charles Russell McKenzie, 86, of 1869 Foster Road, Oakland, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home. Born July 14, 1923, in Westernport, he was the son of the late Guy and Ada (Stuby) McKenzie. His wife, June McKenzie, also preceded him in death. Mr. McKenzie was a World War II veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from Westvaco. He leaves behind a son, Charles R. McKenzie II of Mansville, Ohio; two daughters, Joyce Lesley of Colombia, Pa., and Linda Welsh of Oakland; a brother, William McKenzie; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home chapel at 4 p.m. Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, W.Va.
