- Carl D. Leatherman Westernport – Carl D. “Slim” Leatherman, 68, of RD 1, Box 238, was dead on arrival Sunday at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va. Born in Keyser, he was a son of the late William Leatherman and Annie (Weese) Leatherman. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Adelia (McKenzie) Leatherman. A U.S. Army veteran of WWII, he retired as a beater room supervisor for the Westvaco Corp.’s Luke Mill after 43 years of service. He was a member of the Kelly Mansfield Post 52 American Legion and Queens Point VFW Post 5272 at McCoole. Surviving are his widow, June (Michael) Leatherman;
Two stepsons, Richard Patrick Ran and Dale Ryan, both here; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Beth Bennett, also here; two brothers, Guss Leatherman, here and Lewis Leatherman, Petersburg, W.Va.; and three grandsons. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Boal Funeral Home. Cumberland Evening Times, Sunday, April 7, 1985.
