- Cumberland,Maryland --- Patrick Joseph McKenzie, 53, of Queen City Towers, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Oct. 21, 1951, in Cumberland, he was the son of Virgil DeSalles McKenzie Sr., Cumberland and the late Mary E. (Flynn) McKenzie. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil D. "Buddy" McKenzie Jr. and Michael McKenzie.
Patrick grew up at the Cumberland Fairgrounds. He graduated from SS. Peter and Paul Catholic School and was a former employee of the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, where he worked in the shipping department. Patrick loved to hunt and fish and dearly loved his dog "Laddy".
In addition to his father, surviving are one sister, Mary T. Shade, Martinsburg, W.Va.; five brothers, Ira McKenzie, John McKenzie, Brian McKenzie, Kevin McKenzie and Mark McKenzie, all of Cumberland; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
A Christian Wake will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 8:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter Paul Catholic Church on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Father James Kurtz, O.F.M., Cap., as celebrant.
Interment will be in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.
