- Charles H. Stevenson died early Friday at his home, 232 Summit Avenue, aged 83 years. He was born in Midland. Md., the son of the late David and Matilda Stevenson and had been a resident of this city for twenty-six years. Before his retirement he was Sexton of St Mary's Catholic Church. He was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. Surviving are daughters: Mrs Herbert Niner; Mrs Leon Cook, Funkstown; Mrs Howard Jolliffe and Mrs Edward Trumpower, this city; sons, James, Charles, Thomas, Joseph and John H, this city; Wilbur, Morgantown, W Va; sisters, Miss Agnes Clise, Midland, Md; Mrs Belle Beeman, Frostburg, Md; Mrs Margaret Powell, Midland; half-brother, Harry Clise, Wheeling, W Va; thirty-four grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren. The body was removed to the Kraiss Funeral Home where it may be viewed until Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. Requiem mass will be offered Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. at St Mary's Catholic Church, the Rev Father Charles Dausch celebrant. Interment in Rose Hill Cemetery. The Holy Name Society will meet at the Kraiss Funeral Home Sunday night at 7:00 to recite the Rosary.
