November 29, 2007 - Hunter dies of heart attack -From Staff Reports - Cumberland Times-News - WELLERSBURG, Pa. - A Frostburg man died of a heart attack while hunting Tuesday evening. Pennsylvania State Police said James Robert Beechie Sr., 65, died of natural causes in a wooded area at 5:50 p.m. near the Rest Assured Living Center in Somerset County. Trooper R.A. Burkhart of Somerset Station investigated Beechie's death.

      VALE SUMMIT - James Robert Beechie Sr., 65, of Vale Summit, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007. Born in Frostburg, he was the son of the late William and Mabel (McKenzie) Beechie. He was employed at the Kelly Springfield Tire Company for 27 years and was retired from the LaVale Methodist Church. Mr. Beechie was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Piney Mountain Sportsman Club, Haystack Mountain Sportsman Club, Cresaptown Eagles, Cresaptown Sportsman Club and NRA. He will be missed by all. Surviving is his wife, Patsy (Raley) Beechie; one son, James R. Beechie Jr. and fiancée Marsha Garlitz, Frostburg; one daughter, Jennifer Weimer and husband Ron, Frostburg; grandson, Rusty Rafferty; two brothers, William Beechie Jr. and wife Linda, Eckhart, John Beechie, Vale Summit; one sister, Mary Francis Schmidt and husband James, Frostburg; brother-in-law, Walter Booth and wife Peggy, Vale Summit; sister-in-law, Teresa Raley, Cumberland; brother-in-law, John Raley and wife Barbara; great-nephew, Aus-tin; special nephew, Billy "Beachnut" Beechie; other nieces and nephews; and special friends, Sally, Bobby and Jacob Scott, all of Loartown. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Patrick Besel, assisted by Pastor Bernadette Ross, and the Rev. Sherrill Dillon. Pallbearers will be Bob Volk, Bob Scott, Jacob Scott, Mark Kenney, Jim Clise, Larry McCloskey, and honorary pallbearer, Bill Robinson. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery. He was buried on 1 Dec 2007 in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Frostburg, Allegany Co., Maryland.
