Born Nov. 23, 1920, he grew up in Westernport, the son of the late Rebecca (Biddle) McKenzie and Hilary A. McKenzie. He was also preceded in death his siblings Kay Humes, E. Frances Cuke McKenzie, Donald McKenzie and Paul Champ McKenzie. He is survived by one sister, Norma Broadwater, Westernport. He is also survived by his loving wife, Regina Jeannie (Rollins) McKenzie; seven children, Patrick and his wife Andrea, Mary Nazemi and her husband Steve, Margaret Hodge and her husband Jerry, Thomas and his wife Suni, Carl and his wife Karen, Teresa Fabrizio and her husband John, and Janet McKenzie. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Baltimore.
