Born Sept. 10, 1910, in Chaffey, W.Va., he was the son of the late Bernard Allen and May (Johnson) McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie retired from Westvaco’s Luke mill, having worked in the unloading department for 39 years. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Piedmont, W.Va., and a member of the Westernport Senior Citizens. Surviving are his widow, Laura (Bothwell) McKenzie; one son, Sheirdon A. McKenzie Jr., Cumberland; one daughter, Mrs. Thelma McKenzie, Westernport; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nephews and one niece. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m Wednesday at the Boal-Warnick Funeral Home in Westernport. Services will be conducted there at 11 a.m. Thursday by the Rev. Daniel Bryan. Interment will be in the Philos Cemetery. Cumberland News, February 16, 1988
