- LONACONING — Phyllis Angeline Whiteman, 67, a resident of the Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing, formerly of 15319 Old Beechwood Road, SW, Lonaconing, died Monday, Feb. 23, 1998, at the nursing home. Born Nov. 9, 1930, in Pekin, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Katherine (Nolan) McKenzie. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Connell Whiteman, on Jan. 22, 1998. Mrs. Whiteman was a graduate of Tri-Sate Beauty College, and was a retired beautician having worked at the Coney Capri for 20 years. She was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, Barton. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Eichhom-McKenzie Funeral Home, PA., Lonaconing. Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 27, 1998, at 9:30 a.m. with Father James Hannon officiating. Interment will be in the Green Cemetery, Lonaconing.
