- CRESAPTOWN — Mrs. Sadie Lucretia McKenzie, 78, of here, died Friday in Hampshire Memorial Hospital, Romney, where she had been a patient two weeks. She had been in failing health several years. A daughter of the late George and Mary (Cook) Mclntosh, she was preceded in death by her husband, John C. McKenzie, in 1931. She was a retired employe of Celanese Corporation, where she had worked in the twisting department, was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church; the Ladies' Auxiliary, Cresaptown Firemen; the Cresaptown VFW Auxiliary, and the Frostburg Auxiliary, FOE. She is survived by a son, James R. Longerbeam, Cresaptown; two daughters, Mrs. Nellie McKenzie and Mrs. Margaret Strickland, both of Cresaptown; a brother, Robert McIntosh, Bedford Valley, Pa.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The body is at the Hafer (Baltimore Avenue) Funeral Home, where friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A requiem mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 9 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Cresaptown. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Dale Broadwater, William Hunter, William Ware, Calvin Ware, Raymond Barton and Paul Lease. The Cumberland News, November 17, 1969
