Brett Eugene Boyer, 27, of Gulfport, Miss. formerly of Berlin died Aug. 3, 2003. Born Sept. 27, 1975 in Meyersdale son of Marilyn McKenzie Heiple of Myrtle Beach, S.C., John Heiple of Berlin, and Lynn and Chrystol Boyer of Chambersburg. Preceded in death by grandparents Robert and Edna Boyer, Augustus McKenzie, and Patricia Heiple. Survived by his wife Debra Haggard Boyer of Gulfport, Miss. the daughter of John and Arlene Haggard; brother of Keith Lynn Boyer married to the former Kelli Coughenour, Joshua John Heiple married to the former Leanna Miller, and Natasha Louise Heiple, all Berlin, and Angela Boyer married to Brian Hause of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandparents Betty McKenzie and Charles Heiple, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was a 1994 graduate of Berlin-Brothersvalley High School and was active in the Civil Air Patrol. He served as an E-5 Sea Bee in the U.S. Navy where he was in his fifth year of decorated service. He served two years in the Presidential Honor Guard in Washington, D.C. Member of Berlin VFW Post 7595, Berlin American Legion Post 445, and Glencoe Sportsmen's Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Brett was a loving husband, son, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He loved life and all who knew him could feel that love, and see it in the smile on his face. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and from noon until service at 1 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Rev. Charles R. Dunn officiating. Interment Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Glencoe. In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to the VFW Post 7595 of American Legion Post 445, Berlin, Pa. 15530.
He was buried in Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Glencoe, Somerset Co., Pennsylvania.
