FROSTBURG,MARYLAND -- Donna Jean Shriver, 69, of Frostburg, died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born May 29, 1942, in Frostburg, Donna was the daughter of the late Henry McKenzie and Margaret (Rizer) McKenzie. Mrs. Shriver was preceded in death by her parents and husband John "Bunny" W. Shriver.
Mrs. Shriver was Methodist by faith and retired from Frostburg Village Nursing Home as a cook in the Dietary Department. She loved to read, work on puzzle books, travel and enjoyed the water at the beach and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Cindy Shriver and significant other Russell Michaels, of Westernport; two sons, Mike Shriver, of Corcoran, Calif. and Dean Shriver and wife Karen, of Fairmont, W.Va; two special granddaughters, Savanna and Allison Shriver, of Fairmont, W.Va.; two sisters, Carolyn Shoemake and husband John, of Cresaptown and Deborah Negley and husband Ed, of Frostburg; one brother, James McKenzie, of Cumberland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George M. Harpold officiating. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to service.
Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.
