Born April 1, 1914, in Parsons, W.Va., he was the son of the late George H. and Icy M. (Ball) Hansford. Mr. Hansford was retired from Sacred Heart Hospital. Surviving are his wife, Lalla R. Hansford; six sons, William Hansford and his wife, Patricia, Hagerstown, Clyde A. Hansford, Ernest L. Hansford, Randy H. Hansford, Gerald J. Hansford and his wife, Crystal and Michael W. Hansford, all of Cumberland; 12 daughters, Eileen Smith and her husband, Willy, Dover, Del., Margaret Ferguson and her husband Marshall, Beaver Dam, Va., Rita McKenzie and her husband John, Wellersburg, Pa., Etta Rice and her husband Gary, Cumberland, Ruth Ann Bryant and her husband, Raymond, Cumberland, Mary Jane Bake and her husband, Gill, Centerville, Pa., Dorothy Stonebreaker and her husband Jerry, Cumberland, Alice Ritchie, Linda Hansford, Cathy Barger and her husband Dennis, Betty Robinette, Rebecca Bowman and her husband Gerald, all of Cumberland; one sister, Lula Bennett, Hagerstown, 64 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Francis C. Morris officiating. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Ray Aleshire, Ernie Hansford, Raymond Bryant, Tracy Bryant, Jerry Stonebreaker and John Robinette. (no newspaper indicated on obituary)
