- Mary C. McKenzie, 89, of Frostburg, and formerly of Grantsville, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at WMHS-Frostburg Nursing and Rehab Center, Frostburg. Born June 29, 1928, in Finzel, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Brown and Marie (Pfaff) Poleman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harley McKenzie Jr.; two daughters, Carol Platter and Linda Snelson; one son, William Grant McKenzie; one brother, Robert Brown; and one sister, Lois Brown. Mrs. McKenzie was a homemaker and a member of Divine Mercy Parish, St. Ann Catholic Church, Grantsville. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Scarlett, Frostburg; four grandchildren, Alan Twigg, Randy Twigg, Carrie Cimino and Shane House; 13 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Friday, Nov.17, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, Nov.18, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A prayer service will follow in the funeral home Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Ed Hendricks officiating. Interment will be in the Grantsville Cemetery. Published in Cumberland Times-News on November 17, 2017
