- Robert Archie BURDOCK (son of Richard BURDOCK and Mae KIRK) was born on 23 Jan 1927 in Garrett Co., Maryland. He died on 10 Apr 2002 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. POCAHONTAS, Pa. - Robert Archie Burdock, 75, of 3895 Greenville Township Road, Pocahontas, died April 10, 2002, at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born Jan. 23, 1927, in Garrett County, he was the son of the late Richard and Mae (Kirk) Burdock. Mr. Burdock was also preceded in death by two sisters; and two brothers. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Mr. Burdock was a former truck driver with the Armour Company, retired as a meat cutter with the A&P, and served in World War II with the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Farrady Post 24 American Legion, and St. Michael’s Catholic Church, both of Frostburg. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Mary Jane (Drees) Burdock; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no visitations. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Church on Saturday at 9 a.m., with the Rev. Father Paul Byrnes as celebrant. Interment will be in the Finzel Cemetery.
