FROSTBURG — Donald Timothy Connor, 76, of Washington Street, Frostburg, died Monday, March 7, 2005, at his residence. Born Sept. 11, 1928, in Eckhart, he was the son of the late Griffith “Griff” Connor and Catherine "Della" (McKenzie) Connor. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Margaret (Lloyd) Connor in 2002; one son, James D. Connor; one sister, Ruth Hensel; and one sister-in-law, Erma Jean(Lloyd) Peretti; and two brothers-in-law, Henry “Hank” Lloyd and Jim Miller. Mr. Connor was retired from the Cumberland Cement and Supply. He was a life member of the Frostburg Fire Department, member of the Frostburg Loyal Order of the Moose 324 and past member of the Frostburg Elks Lodge 470 and the Frostburg Eagles Aire 1273. He is survived by one son, Marty Connor, Akron, Ohio; two granddaughters, Kara Connor and Laura Connor, Frostburg; two brothers, Bernard Connor and wife Cleo and Gary Connor, all of Cumberland; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Miller, Frostburg; one brother-in-law, Augustine "Gus" Peretti, Frostburg; numerous nieces and nephews; and Dorothy Schurg, a devoted friend for many years. Donnie loved being surrounded by friends and families. He was especially very proud of his son and two granddaughters. His favorite pasttime was going up to Nickel’s Farm where he and his buddies would sit for hours and hours playing cards, and he enjoyed watching his favorite ball team, the Baltimore Orioles. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. by members of the Frostburg Fire Dept. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. George Harpold officiating. Interment will be in the Eckhart Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of the Frostburg Fire Dept. Memorial contributions may be made to the Frostburg Fire Dept., 22 Water St., Frostburg, MD 21532 or to the American Heart Association - Mid-Atlantic Affiliate, Memorials & Tributes Processing Center, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23508-5216.
He was buried on 10 Mar 2005 in Eckhart Cemetery, Eckhart, Allegany Co., Maryland.
