FROSTBURG — John "Bunny" W. Shriver, 67, of Frostburg, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at the WMHS Memorial Campus.
Born Oct. 28, 1941, in Frostburg, John was the son of the late Charles C. Shriver and Evelyn (McKenzie) Shriver. Mr. Shriver was also preceded in death by one brother, Darrell "Butch" Shriver.
Mr. Shriver retired from Burkey Furniture where he worked in delivery and furniture repair.
John was Methodist by faith. He was an avid skill pool and eight ball player. Bunny enjoyed country music, Saturday morning Westerns, hunting and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Donna (McKenzie) Shriver; one daughter, Cindy Shriver and significant other Russell Michaels of Westernport; two sons, Mike Shriver, of Corcoran, Calif., and Dean Shriver and wife Karen, Fairmont, W.Va.; two special granddaughters, Savanna and Allison Shriver, Fairmont; two sisters, Janice "Jenny" Wilhelm and husband Floyd of Shaft, and Judy Hughes of Bordon Mines; two brothers, James C. Shriver and wife Marian of Baltimore, and Donald Shriver and wife Marion of Bordon Mines; one half brother, Walter "Junior" Shriver and wife Virginia of Frostburg; and numerous nieces and nep-hews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George M. Harpold officiating.
Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.
