- Cobey J. MCKENZIE (Noah Sylvester-4, Francis Patrick-3, Samuel J.-2, John M.-1) was born about 1925 in Garrett Co., Maryland. He died on 12 Dec 1974 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. Frostburg - Cobey J. McKenzie, 49, of Beall School Road, Garrett Co., died yesterday at Sacred Heart Hospital, where he had been a patient for eight days. Born in Garrett County, he was a son of the late Noah and Inez (Minick) McKenzie. A former employe of Morris Motor Express, he was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Grantsville American Legion. Surviving are his widow, Henrietta (Robison) McKenzie; two brothers, Leo McKenzie, RD 2, Frostburg, and Clinton McKenzie, here; four sisters, Mrs. Blanche Spiker, Midland; Mrs. Bertha Garlitz, RD 2; Mrs. Mabel Rush, here; and Mrs. Pearl Garlitz, Avilton; and a number of nieces and nephews. The body will be at the Durst Funeral Home where friends will be received after 3 p.m. tomorrow. The Cumberland News, December 13, 1974.
