- Ralph G. Tressler, Sr., 65, of Meyersdale, died September 17, 2014 at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Washington D.C. Born December 11, 1948 in Salisbury, the son of Orville and Mable (Lung) McKenzie. Preceded in death by his parents; brother: Conrad Tressler; and brother-in-law: James Van Meter. Survived by his wife of 43 years, the former Bonnie Gerhart; son: Ralph Tressler Jr. and wife Jessica, Meyersdale; grandchildren: Laken Tressler, Ashley Tressler, Ryan Tressler, Ralph Tressler III, Katelyn Seese, and Shawn Young; great grandchildren: Taylor, Maddison, Zoey, Ryleigh, Paisley, Ayden, and McKenzie; sister: Mary Layton and husband Bob, Springs. Also survived by his sisters-in-law: Judy Van Meter and husband David, Patti Amann and husband Tim, and Linda Van Meter. Ralph was a Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran and he retired from CSX Railroad after 26 years as a conductor. He was a member of the DAV. Ralph enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, gardening, hunting, football, and spending time at the farm of his friends, Tom and Deb Emerick. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, with Rev. Doug Gnagey officiating.
