- Knopsnyder, James Roy, 85, Salisbury, PA, died Monday, January 25, 2016, at Golden Living Center, Meyersdale, PA. Born October 28, 1930, in Rockwood, PA, he was the son of the late Roy Wilson and Clara (Meerbach) Knopsnyder. Mr. Knopsnyder was preceded in death by two sisters, Elaine Meyers , Grace Burley; and a brother, David Knopsnyder. Mr. Knopsnyder was a truck driver and a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War. He was a member of the Walker-Harris Post 459, American Legion, Salisbury and Earl H. Opel Post 8769, VFW, Salisbury. He is survived by his wife, Naomi Theresa (McKenzie) ; three sons, Timmy Lee (Karen) Knopsnyder, West Salisbury, PA, Edward Ray (Cynthia) Knopsnyder, Meyersdale, James Roy (Patty) Knopsnyder, Jr., Salisbury; one daughter, Linda Marie (Dave) Holler, Salisbury; two brothers, Robert Knopsnyder, Wayne Knopsnyder; five sisters, Patricia Knopsnyder, Nancy Albright, Fran Shaffer, Carol Nicholson, Joyce Housel,; nine grandchildren; And six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Highway, Salisbury, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.n. Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Ingrid Chenoweth and the Rev. Mike Minick officiating. Interment will be at the Salisbury Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the Salisbury American Legion. Somerset Daily American, Somerset, Pennsylvania
