March 10, 2010, Cumberland Times-News GRANTSVILLE — Stephanie Durst Welch, of Grantsville, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born Sept. 10, 1965, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of Sandra (Goehringer) Yoder and the late Thomas Durst Sr. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Timothy Durst; her paternal grandparents, Elmer and Gladys Durst; her maternal grandfather, Aubra Goehringer; and a special cousin, Matthew Pope. In addition to her mother, Sandra; Stephanie is survived by her daughter, Bridgette Welch; her grandmother, Martha Goehringer; a step-sister, Melinda Elliott; and her precious brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Kristi Durst Jr. She was also blessed in having a loving partner of 10 years, Calvin Ott and his family, who have shown so much love and support. Stephanie has many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many friends whom she loved very much and with whom she enjoyed many happy times. Visitation will be held at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Sunday, March 14, 2010 from 1 to 3 p.m. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home at 3 p.m. on Sunday with Pastor Tony Wilburn officiating. The family requests that expressions of sympathy be directed in the form of donations to Yale University, intended for the study and research of NSF (Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis).
