- Martha Eleanor BLANK (Anna Mary MCKENZIE-4, James McClelland-3, Ambrose G.-2, John M.-1) was born on 3 Nov 1928 in Mount Savage, Allegany Co., Maryland. She died on 10 May 2011 in Frostburg, Allegany Co., Maryland. MOUNT Savage — Martha Eleanor Williams Shaw, 82, of Mount Savage, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home. Born Nov. 3, 1928, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late Carl J. Blank and Anna Mary (McKenzie) Blank. She was preceded in death by husbands, James B. Williams on March 3, 1988, and Clarence Shaw on March 26, 2007. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Carl J. Blank Jr., J. Perry Blank, J. Gilbert Blank and Richard “Dick” Blank; and sister, Linnie (Blank) Mace. Martha graduated from Frostburg State University in 1975 with a degree in education. She worked as a substitute teacher before retiring and spending the winters in Florida. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She is survived by her sons, James B. Williams and wife Janie, Cumberland, Kenneth L. Williams and wife Judy, Pittsburgh, Richard L. Williams and wife Brenda, Tennessee; and daughter, Marsha K. Steiner and husband John, LaVale; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and brothers, Phillip Blank and Russell Blank. The family would like to express their special thanks to the kind and caring staff at Frostburg Village Nursing Home and the New Horizons Alzheimer's Care Unit. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian wake service will begin at 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 13, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Mount Savage with Father Eric Gauchat as celebrant.
