Born April 5, 1919, in Avilton, he was a son of the late Edward F. and Sarah C. (Chaney) Weimer. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen V. (Donius) Weimer, on July 12, 1993. Mr. Weimer was a retired farmer and was a member of St. Ann's Shrine, Avilton. He is survived by five sons, George E. Weimer, Daniel D. Weimer and John A. Weimer, all of Avilton, Michael A. Weimer, Salisbury, Pa., and Gerald E. Weimer, Berlin, Pa.; three daughters, Linda S. Clark, Hollywood, Md., Margaret E. Beeman, Avilton, and Patricia A. Coberly, Meyersdale, Pa.; one brother, Stanley Weimer, Meyersdale; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, Md., on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 3:45 p.m. in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann's Shrine, Avilton, on Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. William Moody as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Ann's Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Craig Weimer, Norman Coberly, William Gray, Gerald Mazer, Leroy Nicol and Larry Maxim. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Hospice of Garrett County.
