Durkin, 72, of Beechers Avenue, Eckhart, died Tuesday, March 22, 1994 at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born on Jan. 2, 1922 in Frostburg. she was the daughter of the late John McKenzie and Mary (Minnick) McKenzie. Mrs. Durkin was a homemaker. She was a member of Saint Michael’s Catholic Church and the church Sodality. Surviving are her husband, William F. Durkin; one daughter, Elizabeth A. Hockman, Eckhart; one son, William L. Durkin, at home; three brothers, William “Bill” McKenzie, Frostburg; Eugene “Flooze” McKenzie and Francis “Dick” McKenzie, both of Finzel; six sisters, Clara Cain, Akron, Ohio; Della Connors, Cumberland; Evelyn Shriver, Mildred Minnick, Thelma Raley and Hilda Giles, all of Frostburg; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Wednesday and Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church on Friday at 9:30 a.m. with Msgr. John L. Reinsfelder officiating. Interment will be in Saint Michael’s Cemetery. A Christian wake service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday.
