- Mary Irene MINNICK (Frances (Fannie) MCKENZIE-4, Jacob Patrick-3, Samuel J.-2, John M.-1) was born about 1911 in Frostburg, Allegany Co., Maryland. She died on 14 Jul 1968 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. Mrs. Mary Irene Wempe, 57, of 614 Elwood Street, died yesterday at Sacred Heart Hospital. She had been in ill health for several years. Born in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Joseph B. and Frances L. (McKenzie) Minnick. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Sodality and was an employe of the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company. Surviving are her husband, Raymond F. Wempe; two sons, Raymond J. Wempe, Cumberland, and Ronald L. Wempe, Knoxville, Tenn.; three brothers, Allen Minnick, Marian Minnick and Lawrence Minnick, all of Frostburg; four sisters, Mrs. Harry Hotchkiss, Ridgeley; Mrs. Anna Hickman, Akron, Ohio; Mrs. Raymond Brode, Frostburg, and Mrs. Thomas Scarpelli, Eckhart, and three grandchildren. The body is at the Scarpelli Funeral Home where friends will be received today frorh 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p..m. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 9 a.m. in St: Mary's Catholic Church and interment will be in the parish cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. The Cumberland Evening Times, July 15, 1968.
