LAVALE — Earl “John” Thomas Willetts, 81, of LaVale, passed away Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. Born May 6, 1934, in Cumberland, Mr. Willetts was the son of the late Earl G. Willetts and Agnes (Conway) Willetts. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sarah F. Willetts; a brother, James E. Willetts; and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. A graduate of Allegany High School, Class of 1952, and Strayer Business College, John was a United States Army Veteran and retired from Kelly-Springfield Rubber and Tire Company with 41 years of service. He was an active member of the LaVale United Methodist Church. John is survived by his son: Bryan Willetts and wife, April; and his daughter, Michelle Minnigh and husband, Brian, all of LaVale=. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Andrew and Emily Willetts, LaVale, Heather Lancaster and husband, Jared, Frostburg, and Kristi Minnigh and fiancé, Garrett Otto, Finzel; and his nephews, Kevin Leyh of Florida, and Craig Leyh and wife, Kay, Lockport, N.Y. Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the LaVale United Methodist Church on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Frankie Revell officiating. The family will also receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. The family requests that memorial contributions be made in John’s name to the LaVale United Methodist Church or the LaVale Rescue Squad. Cumberland Times-News, December 8, 2015
