William Edgar Crites, 71, of 939 National Highway, died yesterday at Sacred Heart Hospital where he had been admitted March 4. Born in Durbin, W. Va., he was a son of the late John A. and Rose (May) Crites. A retired construction worker, he was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and was a veteran of World War I. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Lancaster) Crites; two sons, William P. and James R. Crities, Bethesda; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Bridges, Cash Valley Road; eight sisters, Mrs. Lillie Smith, Mrs. Myrtle Harness, Mrs. Hattie Hafner, Moorefield; Mrs. Verna McCullough, Mrs. Virgie McLaughlin, Mrs. Fanny Sensabaugh, Mrs. Mary Atkinson, and Miss Ollie Crites, all of here, and five grandchildren. The body is at the Kight Funeral Home where friends will be received from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. The Cumberland News, March 23, 1966
