- Alverta M. McKenzie, 72, Meyersdale, died Oct. 14, at Meyersdale Community Hospital. She was born Aug. 9, 1916, in Greenville Township, daughter of Emma (Dietle) Meese of Meyersdale and the late Ried Meese. Preceded in death by husband Frank W. and brother Harold. Also survived by sons Ernest F., Seminole, Fla., and Roger, Meyersdale, four grandchildren, brothers Donald E., Somerset, and Dale F., Salisbury, and sister Dorothy M. Woodson, San Antonio, Tex. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Friends received 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Leckemby Funeral Home, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with the Reverend Pamela Armstrong officiating. Interment, Greenville Cemetery. Daily American, October 15, 1988.
