Born March 14, 1917, in Grantsville, MD, he was the son of the late Delbert and Manie (Broadwater) Durst. He was a retired employee of Harbison-Walker Refractories with 28 years' service. He was of the Methodist faith. Surviving are his widow, Velora Durst; two sons, Glen R Durst. Pasadena; and David G. Durst, Hyattsville, MD; three daughters, Mrs. Dona G. Flannigan and Mrs. Iris D. Khalaf, both of Silver Spring, MD; and Mrs. Lisa Uphole, Accident, MD; two brothers, Glenn G. Durst, Frostburg, MD; and Paul E. Durst, Grantsville, MD; four sisters, Mrs. Gladys Durst and Mrs. Vera Merrill, both of Grantsville, MD; Mrs. Dailey Rice, Meyersdale; and Mrs. Ruby Jenkins, Randallstown; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services and interment took place in Silver Spring, MD. The Republic, January 11, 1990
