Feb. 19 – Mrs. Gretta Kirby McKenzie, 40, wife of Frank McKenzie, died this morning of double pneumonia after a week’s illness. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Kirby; four sons, Louis, James, Matthew and Francis Kirby (sic?); two brothers, William and Raymond Kirby, and five sisters. The sons, Louis and James, are members of a CCC camp in Virginia. Cumberland Evening Times Monday, February 19, 1934 Mrs. Frank McKenzie Rites Mt. Savage, Md. Feb. 22 – The funeral of Mrs. Greta McKenzie. Aged 40, wife of Frank McKenzie, who died Monday morning, took place Wednesday morning with a high mass of requiem at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Rev. Frances J. Eagan, pastor, officiating. The pall bearers were Alex Groves, Harold Sween, George Graham, John Geary, Wilbert Geary and John Crowe. Interment was in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Mrs. McKenzie is survived by her husband; four sons, Louis, James, Matthew and Francis, and the following brothers and sisters, William H. Kirby and Harvey R. Kirby, Miss Bertha Kirby, Mrs. Howard Sine, Mrs. Roy Holsinger, Mt. Savage; Mrs. Brackey Black, Barberton, O., and Mrs. Paul Higgins, Little Orleans, Md. Cumberland Evening Times Thursday, February 22, 1934
