- Joseph C. Robeson – Grantsville – Joseph C. Robeson, 95, died yesterday at his home in Avilton. A native of Avilton, he was born May 28, 1854, a son of William and Rhoda Garlitz (sic: this information does not comport with other family obituaries). He is survived by a son, Howard Robeson, Avilton, and three daughters, Mrs. Lulu Myrtle McKinzie, Avilton, Mrs. Emma Winners, Frostburg, and Mrs. Rose Dishong, Salisbury, Pa. Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday in St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Avilton, of which he was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
